Veera Voima (b.1975) went through the classical music school education playing piano and recorder and singing in choirs, but it was until later in high school times, when she was overwhelmed by the joy of making music. At that time she found her future love, the new folk music and started to sing and compose in her first group Kullervon Kosto. The lyrics the group used were from ancient runo songs and the power of that heritage took her on an ever continuing path: after Sibelius High School she continued her studies in Kaustinen and Central Ostrobothnia Conservatory and further to Sibelius Academy Folk Music department, where she received her Master's degree in Music in 2004.
Veera works with choirs at the Music School of Espoo as well as with a multicultural womenīs group Kassandra. She also has her own trio Suo that revives the old runos and released itīs debut cd in fall 2007. She has performed solo as a one-woman choir with the help of live looping technology. Her other projects are an all-girl band Kaipuun Kukkatarha playing nostalgic pop and party music as well as Cedip Tur, a tuvanian throat singing quartet.
Suden Aika has been one of Veeraīs favourite groups for a long time, and she is very happy and eager to sing with the Wolf Ladies. She does not have children yet, but her lovely dog and cats make her family.
