Eleonora Vaura (born 1977 in Turku)

Since the age of seven she was taking piano lessons in a private music school for nine years. She was at a music class in her school and played the recorder. That made her interested in wind instruments and, later, in the human voice as a musical instrument of its own.

She began to take singing lessons and was performing with her school choir all over Europe, often singing the solo parts. In 1992-96 she sang in the Baroque music group Camerata Fennica.

After moving to Helsinki 1997 Nora joined the female choir Philomela, being one of their main soloists. She is also singing in the female vocalist group Ketsurat performing Finnish and foreign folk music.

Nora has been studying both classical and folk singing and masters also different popular music styles. She is always willing to jump into new experiments in musical styles and is not afraid of challenges. At the moment, she is studying singing at the Folk Music department of the Sibelius Academy.

Nora lives in Vantaa with her two children.
